Scaling up: Effectively greening Canada's school grounds

How does rethinking the design and use of Canadian school grounds move from being a fad to a new standard? The interest in the greening of Canadian school grounds has grown steadily in the past twenty years however many of the gains that have been made remain tenuous without dedicated institutional support from school boards. Since 2001, Evergreen Learning Grounds has developed partnerships with nine school boards and one provincial department of education that have created better conditions for success right at the school level. This presentation will feature case studies and examples of how this work has helped create both a greener future for Canadian school grounds and better play and learning environments for our students
