From 1997 RomaNatura manages 15 natural protected areas inside the city of Rome (natural reserves, urban parks and marine areas). From 2007 eleven different managers were individualized to offer, in a biennial project, environmental education and communication services. They will offer environmental education meetings and laboratories in all the school of Rome (about 575 meetings every year), guided tours on protected areas in weekends (about 275 every year), environmental events (about 15 every year), fire education (from june to september). Close to these basical services they started several projects of biodiversity monitoring, divulgation and information materials and informative panels.
We intend to present the first results of this project, with particular focus on RomaNatura mission and how this mission is transmitted to the population.
