An event celebrating the opening of the 5th World Environmental Education Congress, for delegates from all regions of the world and all spheres of activity. Political figures and representatives of leading international organizations will be on hand to meet and greet participants as we kick off the hundreds of activities that—rich in colour, meaning and promise—will come together to form the Congress kaleidoscope!   

The Eco-Show: a festive rendezvous at the crossroads of biodiversity, fantasy and eco-responsibility

A new experience awaits you at every turn in the five ecosystems of the Montréal Biodôme. Characters trace your footsteps as they introduce you to a host of bewitching, wild, fantastic and mysterious experiences in a universe created expressly for you. See nocturnal animals — bats, sloths, beavers, lynx — through the special effects of dim blue lighting as you enjoy an array of artistic performances (song, dance, music, circus arts) along the way. Let yourself be whisked away by the rich biodiversity, talented performers and make-believe world of fascinating characters!

Join us in celebrating the four days of intensive knowledge-enrichment and experience-sharing made possible by the 5th World Environmental Education Congress! On the occasion of this closing reception, the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity will issue a Declaration on Biological Diversity in view of the International Year of Biodiversity in 2010.
